No.1 single cask bottlings

Some of the casks of Japanese whisky we come across are so exceptional that we bottle them under our own label. These whiskies show depths of flavour and aroma that we consider outstanding as well as uniquely Japanese. The very first Number One bottling won an award from the Malt Maniacs.

Chichibu whisky distillery in Japan

Chichibu Whiskies

Ichiro Akuto’s family began making sake in Chichibu in 1625 and continue to do so. Akuto-san, innovator of the year at the Japanese World Whisky Awards 2008, has started a new chapter in Japan's whisky history by building Chichibu Distillery in November 2007 and distilling the first spirit in March 2008.

Hanyu whisky distillery in Japan

Hanyu Whiskies

Originally built in 1946, the Hanyu Distillery began producing whisky in the Scotch single malt style from two pot stills in 1980. The distillery was closed in 2000 but a small amount of these fine and rare single malts has been made available through specialist retailers in the UK.

Karuizawa whisky distillery in Japan

Karuizawa Whiskies

Karuizawa distillery was established in 1955 in the foothills of Mount Asama, an active volcano at 850 metres above sea level. Karuizawa's Single Malts have won gold medals at tasting competitions and Number One Drinks Co. is the exclusive European importer.
